Whether you have one day a month or one day a week, volunteering your time at Mesa makes a world of difference in our students’ lives. Below you’ll find a small sampling of our volunteer opportunities. We hope you find something that appeals to you! For more information about being a partner in this way please contact the school.
In the Classroom
Ask your child’s teacher about lending a hand in the classroom. Parents are often needed to help prepare lessons and activities, read to the class, pitch in on art projects and just about anything else you can think of. Being a chaperon on a field trip is also a great help to the teacher and a fun way to get to know your child’s classmates.
Around the School
Volunteers are always needed on the yard at lunch and recess. We’ll train you and give you the resources you need to make sure play time is fun and safe for all our students. Volunteering in the library can mean re stacking books, setting up a thematic display or reading to a class.
On a Committee
Do you have a passion for greening, fundraising, murals or afterschool enrichment? Joining a committee is a great way to immerse yourself in a single area or project that has a huge impact on our children’s education.
At an Event
Many of Mesa’s wonderful events simply could not be pulled off without the help of parent volunteers. People are always needed to help setup and clean-up, to sell food, paint faces … there is a job for everyone and the list goes on and on. Volunteering at an event is a great way to meet other Mesa families and is always a lot of fun.
